Yorkshire Dales, Lake District Walking Vacation

A Royal Secret - Yorkshire Dales, Lakeland & Bowland

This guided walking tour combines the beauty of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the hidden corners of Queen Elizabeth II's Bowland. Start in undiscovered countryside still owned today by Her Majesty the Queen - a place to which she once said she and Prince Philip would love to retire. Then take in the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.

"Elizabeth has a dream, a fantasy, which she knows she can never realise. There is a valley in Lancashire, near Clitheroe and the beautiful Forest of Bowland, where, she once told a friend, "Phillip and I would like to retire to...." from ELIZABETH Biography of Her Majesty the Queen by Sarah Bradford (1996)
