England's North Country Driver Guided Tour

Day 2
Exploring the scenery of Troutbeck we'll call in at the National Trust's Lakeland cottage Townend. Around Lake Windermere towards Beatrix Potter's Country, we visit Brantwood on the banks of Coniston Water, ending the day in lively Ambleside .

Day 3
Into the undiscovered lanes and fells of South Lakeland, we explore pretty Cartmel village and its magnificent priory as well as visiting inside impressive Holker Hall . A scenic drive takes in the delightful streets of Kirby Lonsdale with time to browse.

Day 4
Discover the memorable Wensleydale countryside and its beautiful little villages. Enjoy a cream tea in Hawes before heading towards Herriot country. Call in at market town Richmond visit its ancient castle and soak up its ambience.

Day 5
Explore the winding country lanes towards King Richard III`s childhood castle in old Middleham before looking around the atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey. Our day culminates high above the River Ure in the thriving cathedral city of Ripon

Day 6
Today it's Brontë country and the tiny mill town of Haworth to visit the Brontë sisters parsonage home. Explore the wild Pennine moors further, perhaps calling at Skipton, Hebden Bridge or Queen Elizabeth II's favourite, Bowland.

Day 7
Why not combine this trip with an extended stay in "God's Own Country" or wonderful York itself.

Arrival transfers from Oxenholme The Lake District
Departure transfers to York/ Northallerton Station.
